Course Overview

The ENABLE Youth Kenya Program is a five-year initiative launched in 2019 and funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB). Its primary goal is to empower youth aged 18–35 through agribusiness training, incubation, mentorship, market linkages, and access to finance. The program targets both unemployed graduates and young people already engaged in agribusiness but lacking market and financial access.

The initiative is modeled on the IITA Youth Agripreneurs approach but has been tailored for the Kenyan context by shortening the incubation period to a maximum of 12 months and introducing accelerated training for those already in agribusiness. The program aims to train 2,080 youth and establish 1,200 agribusinesses, with each business projected to create about 5 additional jobs—resulting in approximately 8,000 direct jobs.
